Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
This policy describes what information is handled when you visit risetorun.org, how the operator uses it and what choices you have. In this document, the operator is the person or party who runs this website. When we say we or us, we mean the operator.
Visit logs
Routine logs are recorded by the servers that deliver this site. An entry can include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page you asked for, your browser and device type, and the page that sent you here. We use this information to keep the site running, to investigate errors and abuse, and to understand in general terms which articles are being read.
Cookies and similar technology
The site may use cookies or comparable browser storage. Some are necessary for pages to load and behave properly. Others, where enabled, count audience numbers, remember a setting, support advertising or record which link led a visitor to another website for affiliate attribution. Each third party that places cookies follows its own policy on them.
Controls in your browser
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, browse privately or install tools that limit tracking. Where our technology is able to, we will honour a do-not-track or global privacy signal from your browser as a request to opt out. Some parts of the site may behave differently if you block particular cookies.
Email and anything you send us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. Your details let us read your message and reply to it, fix errors, and keep a record of the conversation. Your messages are never sold by us, and we will ask before publishing any of them.
Newsletters and forms
If a newsletter or form is offered, the details you enter are used only for that purpose, such as sending the issue you requested or handling your enquiry. Every message includes unsubscribe instructions, or you can email us and request removal.
Outside services
Running a website depends on other providers. These may include hosting and content delivery services, analytics tools, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded material such as videos, social posts or maps. Technical details about your visit may be passed to them so their service can work. Their own terms and privacy notices apply, and we encourage you to read them.
Political content and sensitive information
Articles here discuss public affairs, but the site does not ask readers for their political views, party membership or voting choices. Please avoid including that kind of detail, or other sensitive personal information, when you write to us. If you do, we will use it only to deal with your message.
How long information is kept
Logs from our servers are held for a limited time, after which they are erased or turned into anonymous totals. Emails are kept for as long as they are useful for replying, correcting an article or meeting a legal duty, and are deleted once that need ends.
Exercising your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain uses and to withdraw consent you previously gave. To make a request, email [email protected] and say what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Children
Risetorun is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal details from children. Should you think a child has given us information, tell us and we will remove it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information, including using secure connections and limiting access to the inbox. Since no way of storing or transmitting data online is entirely safe, we cannot promise complete protection.
International transfers
Providers we use may process data in other countries, where the laws may differ from those where you live. By using the site, you accept that your information may travel in this way.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy any time the site or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows when the current version began, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
If you are unhappy
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect anything done before. Our Cookie Policy sets out which cookies are used and how to change your mind about them. If you live in the EU, EEA or UK you can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office); in Australia, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
